India will be diabetes capital of the world

By 2025, India could become the diabetes capital of the world, so says head of the cardiac centre at the MIOT hospital in Chennai - heart surgeon V. V. Bashi who has carried out over 15,000 surgeries to date.
In the western world, 15% of those who suffer from diabetes, also suffer from heart disease, but in India, that figure is 80% so he feels it is necessary to control diabetes in India.
