Diabetes Treatment

Diabetes Treatment may involve injections, tablets or diet and exercise programs.  It all depends on the type of diabetes you suffer from

The diabetes treatment will depend on what type of diabetes the patient suffers from.  The treatment will always be to treat the cause of the disease, and since different types of diabetes have different causes, you will need to look at the individual sections on this site, to see what treatments are relevant to the types of the disease.

For some forms of diabetes, treatment may involve insulin injections, insulin pumps or oral tablet, and for other forms, diet and exercise may be enough to stave off the problem.

There is also a condition called prediabetes, which often develops into type 2 diabetes.  However, if you are diagnosed with prediabetes, it is not written that you will develop type 2 diabetes.  If caught early, this condition can be reversed.

Diabetes Treatment – Is Diabetes Curable?

Are doctors telling diabetics the whole truth? Is diabetes really incurable as we are being told? A growing number of health experts are coming to the conclusion that many cases of diabetes may be curable. This isn’t some wonder drug or herbal potion to cure or reverse diabetes, but a more natural cure related to the diet and lifestyle we live. For full details, please read our section on natural cures for diabetes.

Signs & Symptoms of Diabetes

The signs and symptoms of diabetes will depend on which type you are suffering from. Here we describe the forms, the causes and the treatments.

Diabetes Diet

The bad news is that there is actually no “diabetes diet”. The good news is that healthy eating plans provided to diabetics are also healthy for the rest of the family, so everyone can eat the same foods and be supportive.

Glycemic Index

The Glycemic index tells us how quickly a food is digested and how fast blood sugars elevate after eating. Its one of the metrics that everyone, not just diabetics, should be familiar with.

Insulin

Insulin is the small peptide hormone responsible for lowering blood glucose levels. If levels are low in the body, or the body cannot react to the insulin, diabetes may develop.

Humalog (insulin lispro)

Humalog is a new breed of fast acting insulin that is often called lispro insulin because it has the lysine and proline amino acids at position 28 and 29 on the b-chanin reversed. Coming in handy insulin pens, Humalog is becoming more popular, as is Novolog – another fast acting insulin analog.

Is there a cure for diabetes?

Medical science sees diabetes as incurable, but a growing number of health experts dispute that, and suggest there are natural cures for diabetes.

A Diabetes Diet that can Reverse Diabetes?

Diabetes is considered an incurable disease by the medical community. It’s therefore strange that a growing number of health-minded individuals are saying the opposite. That diabetes is curable! Read my review of an exciting eBook by Matt traverso, author of “How to Reverse Diabetes Now!”

How does insulin work?

Insulin is a small hormone released from the pancreas that helps control sugar levels in your blood. Here we look at the mechanism of insulin’s blood glucose regulation.

What are Normal Blood Sugar Level Readings?

Blood sugar levels must be kept within a strict range in the body if long term damage is to be avoided. This is the problem with diabetics, and we discuss what “normal” blood sugar levels should be.
